What are the most important days in our lives?
Mark Twain says that the two most important days in your life are the day you are born and the day you find out why.
This statement holds a lot of truth!
The first and most important day is the day you are born.
Many consider the birth of a person to be a miraculous event. You are born into this world winning a 1 in 400 million chance. And when we consider the odds for all of our ancestors, the probability becomes even more astounding. Had any of the details of the location, time, and circumstances of conception been different, the outcome would have been vastly different - different ancestors, different parents, and a different child.
So, being born into the world itself is a pretty amazing miracle.
The second most important day is the day you find out why.
Yes! I am born into the world, but why?
Why? In order to live!
but what does it mean to live?
Who am I?
How should I live?
What kind of life is a good life?
This is one of the reasons why I started meditation. I was deeply curious about my purpose, the meaning of life, and my true self. Indeed, as the saying goes the answers were within me all along.
Through meditation, I was able to clear away the distractions and all the cluttered thoughts in my mind, and naturally, I was able to think clearly and find all the answers within.
For sure the day you find out who you are and why you exist marks the most important day in your life.
