The dish is often served with rice and is known for its bold and spicy flavor. It is a popular dish in Korean cuisine and can be found in many Korean restaurants around the world.
Well, you will be able to find the dish in your own kitchen whenever you want from now on!
Dak-bokkeum-tang Ingredients (Serves 4 people)
4 Chicken drunk sticks (can also be made with Chicken breasts or thighs)
Vegetables
1 Carrot
1 Sweet Potato
2 Potatoes
2 Onions
2 Spring onions
Extra vegetables (optional)
I just put them all in as I had them in the fridge. But if you don't have them on hand, you can go without.
1/4 Cabbage
1/2 Zucchini
1/2 Capsicum red and green
Some mushrooms
Simply cut all the vegetables into bite-sized pieces and set aside.
Spicy Gojujang sauce
3 or 4 TSP Gochujang paste
2 TSP Chili Powder
1 TSP chopped spring onions
3 TSP Magic Soy Sauce *if you don't have magic soy sauce, regular soy sauce will do.
2 TSP Honey or sugar
Mix all the sauce ingredients together well. Adding some hot water to the mixture will make it easier to mix.
Let's put it all in and start cooking!
First, blanch the chicken to get rid of access oil and the smell of the meat.
In a large pot, combine the chicken and half of the spicy sauce with a cup of water and bring it to a boil over medium-high heat.
Once it starts boiling, add the firmer vegetables like carrots, potatoes, and onions. Cook until the chicken and vegetables are fully cooked, making sure to check the chicken for doneness by cutting it open and making sure there is no pink inside.
Add the remaining vegetables like mushrooms, capsicum, and zucchini pieces, and bring it to a boil again before turning off the heat.
Now it's ready! Serve it in a bowl and enjoy!
