Exploring Pilates Studios in Sydney and ClassPass

Last month, I learned about this app called ClassPass, and I thought it could be beneficial for many people. So, I am writing about it.

Class Pass App
Class Pass App

ClassPass

ClassPass is a monthly membership that provides access to thousands of studios, gyms, spas, and salons in over 2,500 cities worldwide, including Sydney, Australia.

You can book classes and appointments such as boxing, yoga, manicures, facials, and more using credits that vary depending on the plan you choose.

ClassPass offers a wide range of plans to suit your budget and wellness goals, and some plans include rollover credits that you can use in the following month.

Booking is made easy with the ClassPass app, which displays the distance to each business, the types of amenities they offer, and reviews from other users.

What I appreciate about ClassPass is that it offers the opportunity to try different types of fitness and wellness activities without locking you into contracts or requiring high fees. By joining ClassPass, you can enjoy the benefits of variety, flexibility, and affordability for your health and well-being.

The good news is that you can try it for free for a month.

You can download and use it for a month with the free credits you receive, and then decide whether to continue or not. You won't be charged if you cancel before the month ends.

I used my first month's credits to explore different Pilates studios near me. After trying an open-day session at Studio Pilates, I became interested in experiencing more Pilates sessions to determine if it's something I would like to incorporate into my regular weight training routine.

I tried three different Pilates studios, and it was incredibly beneficial to sample various options to see what worked and what didn't for me. In this regard, I find the app to be very useful. Even though you're essentially doing the same workout, there are other factors that come into play, which can significantly influence whether your experience is enjoyable or not.

Pilates studios I tried with CLASS PASS

HiPilates

Address: Shop 4/2 Stamford Ave, Ermington NSW 2115

My Review 2/5

Hipilates Studio
HiPilates

This was the first studio I tried, and I didn't enjoy it. It made me think, 'Ah, this is why it's important to try out different studios!'

When I booked the session, I received an email asking me to arrive 10 minutes before the starting time to prepare. Since it was my first time locating the place, I made sure to arrive early enough. I waited outside until it was 10 minutes before the class, and I attempted to enter.

However, the instructor asked me to wait outside. Unfortunately, the studio didn't have a waiting room, which made waiting outside a little inconvenient. Fortunately, it was a good day weather-wise, so it wasn't too bad. But if it had been cold and rainy, it would have been annoying.

The class was only 'okay' overall. The instructor did her job but didn't seem very enthusiastic, which resulted in a low-energy class. It could just be my impression, but I'm glad I tried it because now I know that this is probably not the studio I would want to return to.

KX Studio GLADESVILLE

Address: Level 1 200/202 Victoria Rd, Gladesville NSW 2111

My review: 5/5

KX Pilates studio
KX Pilates Gladesville

Maybe because of my not-so-impressed first experience at HiPilates, I was pleasantly surprised when I entered KX Pilates in Gradesville. They had a welcoming waiting room, as well as nice bathrooms and shower facilities.

The instructor was very kind and provided thorough instructions. The studio had a bright atmosphere, and since it was an 'intermediate' level class, it really challenged me.

It was a bit uphill from my home, so I felt like I had already completed a workout just by arriving at the studio, lol. (I was on my bike.) So, by the end of the exercise and the bike ride back home, I was pretty tired.

However, the entire experience was so positive that it made me think this is the kind of studio I would like to continue visiting, even though it's a bit far from my home.

It's interesting how your mind can come up with all sorts of excuses or justifications depending on how much you enjoy something.

Blue Sky Pilates

Address: 15/17 Blaxland Rd, Rhodes NSW 2138

My review: 4/5

Blue Sky Pilates Studio
Blue Sky Pilates

This studio was just a stone's throw from my place, located right in front of Rhodes Station. It literally takes 3 minutes to get there.

They have the most variety of equipment for Pilates. All the other studios I've been to only had reformers, but this one had all the other Pilates equipment.

The instructor was very thorough, and the location was very convenient. I enjoyed the session. However, the downside of this place is that the pricing is a little high for me to continue.

Their group sessions are for a maximum of 5 people, and most sessions are either individual or in smaller groups. I think that's why the pricing is a bit higher.

Well, I'm glad I had the opportunity to try out these Pilates sessions. Pilates is something I definitely want to include in my exercise routine once a week, alongside my weekly swimming.

That's all from me for today. I hope the information about Class Pass can help people try out different gym classes, yoga classes, and more. Thank you!
